Picked up a W. Somerset Maugham novel at my usual book box and found this curious little slip of paper in it. A left-over from the original copy? Or did a prior reader leave it? Was it their bookmark? Used books are awesome; they come with so many interesting stories and funny things about them. I wonder how old this little slip is. The back cover talks about Maugham as if the guy was still alive and in the book it says the latest print run is from 1960.
Can any of you guys read the little handwritten addition? Looks like a name but I don’t think it says Nicholas Monsarrat, or does it?
Found this mini calendar full of kitten pics in a drawer somewhere and started using the sheets as bookmarks. Nice change to the usual subway tickets.
My favorite cat. Belongs to one of my friend’s neighbors, I think. She always hangs out with us when we sit outside.
sunnysunflowers made this amazing Murakami inspired postcard for me. I wasn’t expecting anything and found it in the mail yesterday, amusingly coinciding with Valentine’s Day. In case you don’t get the references, I am a huge fan of the character of The Rat and the books he appears in, sheep playing a prominent role in one (or two) of them, as well. The two moons symbolize 1Q84.
I’m going to get this framed and will hang it up with my May Kasahara painting.
A million thanks again, An!
