Today the neighborhood library book box gave me this gem which had been on my list of books to get ever since I read Eiji Yoshikawa’s Musashi. It’s a German edition and the book is completely battered but I’m still happy!
It also has a map in it. Fucking YEAH, I love books with maps!
Picked up a W. Somerset Maugham novel at my usual book box and found this curious little slip of paper in it. A left-over from the original copy? Or did a prior reader leave it? Was it their bookmark? Used books are awesome; they come with so many interesting stories and funny things about them. I wonder how old this little slip is. The back cover talks about Maugham as if the guy was still alive and in the book it says the latest print run is from 1960.
Can any of you guys read the little handwritten addition? Looks like a name but I don’t think it says Nicholas Monsarrat, or does it?
Found this mini calendar full of kitten pics in a drawer somewhere and started using the sheets as bookmarks. Nice change to the usual subway tickets.
My favorite cat. Belongs to one of my friend’s neighbors, I think. She always hangs out with us when we sit outside.
