It’s really strange but a lot of my all time favorite songs are totally over-length.
A brief list:
- Bruce Springsteen - Jungleland (9:33)
- Pink Floyd - Time (7:01)
- Pink Floyd - Dogs (17:04 !)
- Boris - Naki Kyoku (12:13)
- BOaT - Tuesday (9:41)
How come a lot of really good songs have an epic length?
Is it probably the reason why they are so extremely good?
/edit: I also believe they are the reason for lonely drinking nights in front of the computer. You listen to a couple of these songs and bam, two hours passed. They also make you feel bad because they are so perfect.
BOaT - KILL/KILL (I WANNA QUILL YOU, WHAT DO YOU WANT?)
I was totally unaware a video for that song existed. Now I’m even more in love with this band.
Holy shit. This is only the third picture of one of my favorite bands I have ever seen. Their stuff is unbelievably hard to find.
I came across this by accident. I’m drunk with joy.
I’ll probably turn this into a Roro appreciation blog. Get it. Understand.
On BOaT’s Roro. Sometimes it’s easier when other people express what you think.
tuffghost replied to your post: I just listened to that BOaT album you posted. Wonderful stuff! Akiramujina is amazing. Since you liked that, I know a band that’s pretty similar to that song that you might be interested in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MhRj_48-7w ??
Ive heard of Boris but haven’t given them a listen before. That’ll have to change soon then. Glad to hear you like The Sugarplastic. Its just a little taste of some 90s Los Angeles pop that never grows old for me. Do you have any other stuff by BOat?
Boris is a very, very special band, playing all kinds of music like drone, rock n roll, noise, ambient electronica shit and stuff, new album is even kinda poppy with weird beats and all. You should really give them a try. I do have plenty of BOaT albums. RoRo, though, is by far their best in my opinion, and does have its very own and unique style which is different to the other albums. I can provide you with the oher records but you may find a squeaky J-Pop/Rock song here and there, I’m not sure if that’s your thing. Not mine either, but some of it is simply quality.
Sad thing is, you just don’t fucking find any information on these guys online if you don’t understand Japanese. It’s like they are freaking ghosts.
